Product Introduction

Under normal circumstances, industrial pure titanium (such as Gr1, Gr2) is mainly used to manufacture high corrosion resistance and high strength equipment; Titanium target alloys (e.g. Gr7, Gr12) are used to manufacture equipment for use in low-oxygen, low-pH and high-temperature chloride environments.


Gr7 is a typical titanium palladium alloy, which is an alloy with excellent corrosion resistance to acidic media formed by adding a small amount of precious metal Pd to pure titanium. The presence of non-toxic by-elements aluminum and vanadium is a high-quality material that replaces pure titanium and TC4 titanium alloy for implantation biomedicine.

 

 

Chemical composition
Gr7 titanium palladium alloy has excellent corrosion resistance in oxidizing media, and also has certain corrosion resistance to reducing media, especially improves the crevice corrosion resistance in high chloride ion concentration media. Titanium palladium alloy containing 0.2% palladium in 5% boiling sulfuric acid can reduce the corrosion rate from 48.26mm/a (industrial pure titanium) to 0.508mm/a, a difference of nearly 100 times. The alloy has good machining, forming and welding properties, but alloys containing the precious metal palladium are costly.

 

 

Performance characteristics
Gr7 titanium palladium alloy not only has high melting point, non-magnetic, low coefficient of thermal expansion, high specific strength and specific stiffness, but also has good corrosion resistance, biological erosion resistance and many other excellent properties.


1. The ratio of strength to density is high
The density of Gr7 titanium palladium alloy is generally about 4.5g/cm3, only 60% of steel, the strength of pure titanium is close to the strength of ordinary steel, and some high-strength titanium alloys exceed the strength of many alloy structural steels. Therefore, the ratio of strength to density of titanium alloy is much greater than that of other metal structural materials.


2 High heat intensity
Gr7 titanium palladium alloy is used at a temperature several hundred degrees higher than aluminum alloy, can still maintain the required strength at moderate temperatures, and can work for a long time at a temperature of 450 to 500 degrees Celsius. Gr7 titanium palladium alloy operating temperature can reach 500 degrees Celsius, aluminum alloy is below 200 degrees Celsius.


3 Good corrosion resistance
Gr7 titanium palladium alloy works in humid atmosphere and seawater medium, and its corrosion resistance is much better than that of stainless steel. Resistance to pitting corrosion, acid corrosion, stress corrosion is particularly strong; Excellent corrosion resistance to alkali, chloride, chlorine, sulfuric acid, etc. However, the corrosion resistance of reducing oxygen and chromium salt media is poor.


4 Good low temperature performance
At low and ultra-low temperatures, Gr7 titanium palladium alloy can still maintain its mechanical properties. Titanium alloys with good low temperature performance and very low gap elements.

1 Aerospace field
Due to its high strength, low density and excellent corrosion resistance, titanium palladium alloy is widely used in the aerospace field:
